The best airports for Lake Como are Milan Malpensa (MXP), Milan Linate (LIN), and Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY). Malpensa is the closest major international airport, about 50 km from Como. All three offer easy access to the lake by train, car, or shuttle.
Lake Como isn't fully walkable around the entire lake, but many of the towns – like Como, Bellagio, and Varenna – are very walkable and best explored on foot. To get between towns, you'll need to use ferries, buses, or a car.
The best months to visit Lake Como are May, June, and September. During these months, the weather is warm and pleasant, perfect for sightseeing, boat trips, and enjoying the lake.
